Interesting exclusive visit to Gillet company.
Is Belgium a car producing country? Of course with several factories of leading manufacturing in the country.
Is Belgium creating cars? Less obvious question, but yes, we have car creators and when we get creative, we go for best in class. One of these gems is Gillet, a supercar manufacturer, established in 1992.
The cars should not only have world class technology, but a supercar needs in the first instance to be fast. Gillet became a Guinness book record holder with a stunning 3.266 seconds acceleration from 0 up to 100km/h (62mph). The Gillet Vertigo also succeeded to become FIA GT world champion in the G2 category: 2008, 2007, 2006.
We were welcomed by Tony Gillet himself, who not only explained the Gillet cars, but also had many interesting stories about his career as a race driver, innovator and company leader. It quickly became clear that nothing is accepted to be impossible in this remarkable company.
The Tony Gillet spirit stands for driving cars that are real works of art, offering extraordinary driving sensations. Contrary to the modern school of massive horsepower, Tony is a master in the art of creating a phenomenal weight/power ratio. Although their most recent cars ‘only’ have a 420 HP engine, rocket performance is obtained in this way. As an additional touch of magic, the engine is an 8 cilinder marvel, created by Maserati.
But enough for the talking, let us look at these marvels:
If Batman could choose a new car, it certainly would be a Gillet.
If daddy is also looking for a baby car for the kids, he is served at his wishes… (I must have had the wrong dad).
With special thanks for the Belgian Chinese Chamber of Commerce to have organised this event.
