A day before the Belgian King could visit the Floraliën in Gent, we already had the opportunity to attend a special preview.
This special event only occurs only once every five years and allows the public to enjoy spectacular pieces of floral art, created by some of the top masters in the world.
This year’s edition was even more special than previous ones, as it war organised around the theme ‘East meets West’ and highlighted some of the best of Japan’s creations.
A nice collection of bonsai, including this inverted specimen.
Also very special and pleasant was the organisation of the event in the middle of the town and no longer in a cool exhibition style environment. Much more relaxed and inspiring.
Not only admiring the set-up the flowers was great, but also the flowers themselves were magnificient and the result of great craftsmanship. Created and cared for with true passion and commitment.
Even in the otherwise so conventional arts museum, the flower art created a fresh, enjoyable and fascinating environment.
The Sint Pieters abbey and church were certainly special highlights.
Our designers and their dedicated teams really gave us their very best performance. A great thanks to all of them.
